Psychodynamic Counselling - Barnet
Viktor E. Frankl
Are you struggling to cope at the moment?
Do you feel depressed and are not quite sure why?
Could you benefit from a safe, non-judgemental place to explore your feelings in confidence?
My name is Maite Berndes and I am a BACP registered psychodynamic counsellor working in Barnet.
I work with adults, one to one either on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period. I am committed to providing therapy in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment. I also provide Skype counselling for people who are unable to attend my practice or for those who travel regularly when a combination of face to face and Skype can be arranged.
As a counsellor I am experienced in helping clients who have difficulties with:
Our childhood experiences and early relationships have a direct impact on the present. This is sometimes outside the awareness of the person, in other words, it is unconscious. Therapy aims to bring these unconscious issues into conscious awareness with the aim of giving you greater personal insight and understanding and therefore more control over your life and emotions.
It is during childhood that people set up templates for future relationships and behaviours, it is by exploring these templates in greater depth that insight can be gained and change becomes possible.
I work in private practice in Barnet . In addition to this I work as a bereavement counsellor with a North London charity.
My Barnet practice is within easy reach of New Barnet station (10 minute walk); Cockfosters (Picadilly Line) 20 minutes walk or short bus ride; High Barnet (Northern Line) 30 minutes walk or short bus ride. There is free off street parking outside.
My Devonshire Street, W1 practice is within a short walk of both Regents Park tube (Bakerloo Line) and Great Portland Street tube (Circle, Metropolitan & Hammersmith & City Line).
I am also conveniently located for Enfield, Potters Bar and Edgware.
If you are looking for a counselling service in Barnet or London W1, please contact me either by email or by phone.
Unsure as to whether counselling can help you? Why not call me and we can discuss how it may be of benefit you.
In addition to my counselling experience, I have also worked in the commercial world in both property and recruitment. I believe that this experience enables me to better understand the pressurised work environment that most people inevitably work in nowadays.
